MEET BARNEY...
Age: 8
Breed: Terrier Cross
Dogs Trust Shrewsbury are hoping it won’t be long before someone falls in love with partially sighted Terrier Cross Barney.
The eight-year-old arrived at the Rehoming Centre on Bonfire Night last year after sadly his owner became ill and could no longer look after him. Despite being an Older Age Pooch (OAP) with limited vision, he has a real zest for life and loves nothing more than playing fetch.
Barney was unfortunately attacked by a dog some years ago which resulted in him losing an eye and he has damage to the other, but it doesn’t slow him down and he’s a confident, lively boy who loves to learn new things. Barney could live with a family with children aged over 14 but will need to be the only dog in the home. He would thrive with a family who have the time to help him get to know his new surroundings and understand his needs.
If you think you could offer Barney his forever home, please call 0300 303 0292 or visit Dogs Trust Shrewsbury at Roden Lane Farm, Telford, Shropshire, TF6 6BP. It’s open Friday-Tuesday 12pm-4pm, closed on Wednesdays and open 12pm-7.30pm on Thursdays. You can also visit www.dogstrust.org.uk to find out about all the dogs waiting for their forever homes.
